What we collect

  • If you call: your phone number, the date and time, a recording of the call and a written copy of it. We ask for your name, your address, and what is wrong.
  • If you use the form: your name, phone number, street address, ZIP code, what is wrong, and anything you type in the comments box. Address suggestions come from a mapping service, which loads when you tap the street address box.
  • Automatically: the usual web server records: the pages requested, the browser, the IP address. We set no cookies of our own and run no advertising or tracking scripts.
  • Visit counts: the page you land on, the time, which of our links brought you, if any, and a rough country and device type. Our hosting company works out the rough country and device type from your connection; the counts don’t say who you are, and we only see totals.
  • Button taps: when you tap a call button or the “Send your details” button, we note which button it was and, if you arrived by one of our own tagged links, which link that was. Your browser keeps that link’s label and a random visit code for this tab only, and they are gone when you close it. No name, no phone number.

Why

  • To pass your request to one contractor.
  • To keep a record of the call, so we can answer any question about it later.

Who sees it

  • The one contractor we pass your job to. They are not our employee; after that their own practices apply.
  • The companies that run our phone line, this website and our records, under contract and only to do that work for us.
  • Nobody else, unless the law requires it.

We do not sell your information.

Who pays us

Contractors pay us for each call they accept. You pay us nothing. We don’t check insurance.

How long

We keep calls, written copies and form messages for 13 months, then delete them.

Your choices

To have what we hold deleted, or to ask what we hold, use the form: choose “A privacy request” under What’s wrong and give the phone number you used. It needs no address and no ZIP, and it is not passed to any contractor. We do not send texts.

Calls are recorded

Calls to this site’s number are recorded, and you are told so at the start of every call. If you would rather not be recorded, use the form instead.
